County communities offer holiday events this weekend

Now that Mother Nature has all but ensured we are having snow this December 2025, get ready for all the great events coming up in Harrison, Clare, and Farwell to get ready for Christmas!
Friday, December 12th  is Harrison’s Annual Christmas Parade will be held down First Street North of Main to Main Street and onward to the County  Building area. This year’s theme is Whoville for ALL the county Christmas parades this year!  The parade starts at 6 p.m.
Saturday, December 13th the festivities are joined by Farwell and Lake as well as Camp Rotary located south of Mid Michigan College on S. Clare Ave.  Camp Rotary will host a Breakfast with Santa from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The buffet breakfast includes games and photos with Santa!
Santa will be traveling to Farwell to ask kids what they want from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Farmer’s Market, with free, real horse-drawn sleigh rides!  The parade begins at 7 p.m. down Main Street with the Farwell Christmas Tree Lighting in the park after the parade.
Lake Station’s festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a parade followed by Christmas Tree Lighting and Caroling!  Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.
Sunday, December 14th finishes out the holiday celebrations with a host of events in Clare.  Starting at noon on Friday until 5 p.m., the City of Clare will be hosting an outdoor Holiday Market and there will be hotdogs and a food truck as well, with Santa arriving for the kids at the Depot at 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.  There will be a dog Christmas costume contest – courtesy of Family Farm & Home – at 3 p.m.  The Christmas Parade in Clare will begin at 5:30 p.m., from McEwan Street to State Street to 3rd Street.  After the parade, the Clare Christmas Tree Lighting will follow at the Depot, with Christmas Caroling at 6:30 p.m., a Tesla Light Show at the Brookwood Athletic Complex at 7 p.m., and a “Walk through Bethleham” at 3557 E. Colonville Rd., between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Clare will also host free horse-drawn sleigh rides from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Clare Depot, sponsored by Mid Michigan College, Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, and R. B. Harsh Construction.
It sure looks like it will be a Whoville Christmas in Clare County this weekend!
