“Spring Car Cruise-In and Eats” took place May 10 in Sturgis. It was presented by Downtown Development Authority.
It featured more than 100 classic automobiles. Live music was provided by Marjorie Beryl-Shelito, Bethi Lewis and Ben Prowett.
“Cruise-in” also marked the official unveiling of “Art Around Town,” which features work by 17 artists. Those will remain on display all year at various sites.
Face-painting and other activities were available, and vendors lined the sidewalks.
Estimated attendance was 1,000, said Ryan Conrod, event coordinator at DDA.
The next DDA event is “Bourbon, Bacon and Blues,” set for 5:30-10 p.m. May 24. It features beverage-tasting and food vendors. Music is provided by Out of Favor Boys and Resurrection Blues Band. Entry fee is $5. For additional information, visit sturgisboxoffice.com.
