Farwell baseball team upends Clare

FARWELL — Farwell’s baseball team defeated Clare 7-0 in the second game of a doubleheader on April 21.
Mason Esterline stymied Clare on the mound with a complete game shutout. He struck out the side on nine pitches in the first inning.
He also had three singles at the plate.
Farwell scored in the first when Hunter Edlin grounded out, scoring a run. Walker Brown had a key single in the third inning.
Asher Yarhouse and Brown both drove in runs for Farwell. Esterline stole two bases.
Farwell lost the first game 14-3 to Clare,
Hunter Edlin was the starter for the Eagles. Blake Sholes led Farwell with two hits in two at bats. Esterline and Dylan Michell both had RBIs.
Farwell split with St Louis on April 20, losing the first game 15-14 and winning the second game 9-0.
Yarhouse had three RBIs and three hits in the first game. Esterline and Yarhouse also had three hits.
Hunter Edin had four RBIs and three hits in the second game.
Conner Cousineau threw 1.2 innings of zero-run ball.
Farwell is home on April 23 with Pinconning.
