Fire damages Otsego apartment complex

A fire at Aspen Park Apartments in Otsego caused significant damage to the east side of the building.
Firefighters from the Otsego Fire Department were called to the apartment complex—located off Farmer Street next to St. Margaret Church—at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 4.
According to Otsego Fire Department assistant chief David Kranz, firefighters had the blaze extinguished in about an hour. No residents or firefighters were injured, although some pets died, according to reports.
Resources such as the American Red Cross were contacted to aid the families and individuals affected by the fire.
Although the cause of the fire remains under investigation, early reports indicated it could have been electrical in nature.
