Gary W. Emmons

Gary W. Emmons, 73 of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021
at his home. Born September 24, 1948 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he was the son of the
late Glen and Marjorie (Gay) Emmons and the husband of the late Mary Emmons. Gary
was a true outdoorsman. He was a farmer his entire life, along with working for
Emperial Carving. Being outside was like a calling to Gary. He enjoyed riding his
ATV, picking blackberries, and hanging out at the lake where he would just take in the
beautiful scenery around him. Gary also had a gift for gab and loved to reminisce about
“the good old days” and his time as a youngster. Watching the old westerns staring
John Wayne or all of Dolly Parton’s movies (which he had them all!) were some of his
favorite ways to pass the time. Gary loved his family and loved sharing his life with
them.
Gary is survived by his children, Carl (Stacey) Emmons, Karrie (Zach) Christman and
Tonya Emmons; three grandchildren, Zachery Christman, Chrystal English and Mitchel
Geiger; and six great-grandchildren.
Along with his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Daniel
Enghish.
A private graveside service was held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM in
Mallory Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allegan County 4-
H, 3255 122nd Ave, Allegan, MI 49010. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is
assisting the family with arrangements.
