Indivisible holds candlelight vigil for ICE shooting victim

PAW PAW – Indivisible Paw Paw joined more than 1,000 demonstrations last weekend as part of the “ICE Out for Good” weekend (Jan. 10-11), that took place across the United States to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and demand accountability for lost lives.
On Friday, Jan. 9, Indivisible Paw Paw held a Candlelight Vigil in downtown Paw Paw for shooting victim, Renee Good, in Minneapolis by ICE agents. Approximately 75 people attended the vigil.
“Many were deeply affected by the loss of Renee Good and found comfort in honoring her together,” said spokesperson IPP Ann Burch. “Both demonstrations were peaceful and orderly, with moments of silence honoring the lives lost this past year.”
Nearly 200 people showed up on Sunday, Jan. 11, for an “Ice Out” demonstration on the four corners in downtown Paw Paw. Demonstrations were also held in several surrounding Southwest Michigan communities last weekend, including Hastings, South Haven, Saugatuck, Kalamazoo, and St. Joseph.
