MARION – The Marion Village Council had its first monthly meeting of 2022 on Monday.
“Our meeting was very quick and we basically had the usual business,” council president Flora Grundy said. “Nothing new happened at the moment to discuss except for the budget.
“We will be having a special budget workshop meeting on Jan. 24. We have to have a budget ready to adopt at the February regular meeting for it to be in place for the start of our fiscal year, beginning on March 1.”
The village, on its website is posting applications for residents to serve on its recreation and beautification committee.
The website notes that it’s an advisory committee to the Village Council made up of members of the community of Marion. The purpose of this committee is to advise the Village Council concerning the expenditure of village funds, the procurement of donations and the procurement of grant monies that would be used for the promotion of recreation and beautification within the Village of Marion.
“These improvements shall enhance the appearance of the town, update and add recreation within the Village and overall improve the quality of life for the residents and visitors of our amazing little town,” the website states.
