McBain baseball team falls to Evart

MCBAIN –McBain’s baseball team was 13-13 after a pair of losses to Evart on Friday.
This week, McBain lost 1-0 and 7-1 to Pine River but on Wednesday, the Ramblers beat Grayling 12-1 in five innings and 17-11 in six innings.
On May 17, McBain lost 10-4 and 7-2 to Evart at Evart.
“Overall we played pretty well,” assistant coach Joey Roberts said. “We had too many walks in the first game. The second game we got under the ball a little bit but I thought we played well. We had good effort. I thought our defense played pretty well for the most part.”
Kaden Abrahamson was the starting pitcher in the second game. Trenton Brunink took the loss in the second game.
Trey Boven “had a couple nice at bats today,” Roberts said. “We were able to put down a couple of nice bunts. Blayn Hughston put down a couple of bunts. Colton Haverkamp had a couple of good at bats including in the last inning. A the plate I thought everybody looked pretty decent today.”
Seniors for McBain this season were Carson Murphy, Trey Boven, Benjamin Tripp and Kaden Abrahamson.
