Bundle up and count down to 2026 with the LARGEST New Year’s Eve ball drop in Michigan!
Downtown Allegan doesn’t have much in common with New York City, but one thing this small West Michigan community mirrors each year is the iconic Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball. By comparison, the Allegan ball measures 10 feet, 6 inches in diameter — the largest in Michigan! Featuring 30,000 synchronized LED lights, the ball drops 50 feet along the Downtown Allegan Riverfront as the community counts down the final seconds before midnight. This free, family-friendly outdoor event annually draws more than 3,000 attendees from across the Mitten State and beyond.
From 8pm to midnight on December 31, enjoy a variety of food trucks, hot drinks, alcoholic beverages, massive fire pits, a silent disco, free ice skating, and live music from Trixy Tang — West Michigan’s premier high-energy rock ’n’ roll party band covering crowd favorites from the 70s, ’80s, and ’90s. The night will culminate with the countdown and a brilliant fireworks show over the Kalamazoo River at the stroke of midnight.
