Obituary: Betty Joan “JO” Vancely (Webb)

Betty Joan “JO” Vancely (Webb), 82, of Glendale, AZ, passed away on September 26, 2024. Born on June 27, 1942, in Three Rivers, Michigan, she was known to all as Jo and touched many lives with her devotion to faith and family.

Jo was an ordained minister who used her compelling voice and guitar skills to spread the gospel. Her dedication to her church and community was evident through her joy in sharing her love of Jesus with everyone she met. Jo cherished her family deeply, including her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.

She is survived by her children, Rowdy Vancely, Dani (David) Anesin, Bobbi (Mike) Kelley, and Jodi Vancely; grandchildren Kyle Vancely, Justin Vancely, Natasha Kelley, Brandon Kelley, Sarina (Nathan) Albright, Ashley (Summer) Anesin; several great-grandchildren, including a great-great-grandson; and sisters Nora (Sue) Rosen and Deborah Trim. She also leaves behind cousins Diana Simon and Steven Simon.  Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Mirtle (Webb) Bronstetter and Silas Aaron Webb; brother Silas Archie Webb; granddaughter Kandis Vancely; grandmother Ethel (Engelman) Squire; and aunt and uncle, Mildred (Aunt Mike) and George Simon.

Jo attended Constantine Primary and Three Rivers High School and furthered her education at Glen Oaks Community College, she received her Certificate of Ordination by Spirit of Truth Family Worship Inc.

A private service has already taken place. Details of a public celebration of Jo’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local church or food bank in memory of Betty “JO” Vancely.  Her legacy of love, faith, and music will continue to inspire those who knew her.
