NOVEMBER 7, 1957 – JANUARY 17, 2025
Cathy Ann Starkweather age 67 of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Harrison, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 17, 2025. Cathy was born November 7, 1957 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Ruby (Loomis) Swallow and Rumsey Swallow. Cathy graduated from Harrison High School, class of 1975.
Family was very important to Cathy. Her parents provided a beautiful life for her and her siblings. She was the life of the party and loved planning events for her family and friends. She was a very hard worker both at home and with the family business. Cathy had 3 daughters and she always made sure they were well taken care of. She often put others before herself. She loved to travel and visited some very cool places in her lifetime. She’s been to Switzerland, Hawaii, Alaska, Montana, Wyoming and Mexico to name a few, however, her all time favorite place to vacation was Dollywood. She has visited there many times. Cathy also enjoyed working in the kitchen during the summer at Lost Valley Bible Camp, Gaylord, Michigan. One of her favorite things in life was being a Mema to her 11 grandchildren. Her family will miss her dearly, but are confident she is in Heaven with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Surviving Cathy are her 3 daughters; Aleisha Miller of Northville, Michigan, Keri Viviano and husband Sam of Bruce Township, Michigan and Katie Hoyt and husband Jeff of St. Louis, Michigan, her mother, Ruby Swallow of Stanwood, Michigan, 11 grandchildren; Skye Miller, Natalee Hoyt, Minji Miller, Halle Hoyt, Ayja Miller, Marcus Hoyt, Lincoln Viviano, Violet Viviano, Makenzie Miller, Kaidence Viviano and Margaret Viviano, one great-granddaughter, Paislee, her brother, Thomas Swallow and wife Terri of Stanwood, her brother-in-law, Jim Ashley of Lake, Michigan, her favorite aunt, Sharon Loomis of Delaware, Ohio, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Rumsey Swallow and her sister, Linda Ashley.
Funeral services honoring Cathy will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service, 165 West Oak Street, Harrison, with Pastor Phil Maxwell officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison.
