Obituary: Howley Bolen

Howley Bolen, Age 81, passed away Monday morning, August 5, 2024. Howley was born in Corydon, IN, on December 21, 1942, the son of Enoch and May (Smith) Bolen. On December 11, 1976, he married Sharon Lee Kelly who survives. Howley had worked for many years in maintenance for the Allegan Public School System. Following his retirement he worked for the River Run Apartments. Howley was an avid outdoorsman. He spent his time hunting, fishing and camping. He liked going to the casino. Nothing was more important to him than his family and he loved his grandchildren, but especially his great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Howley is survived by his children, Brian (Tony) Reed, Brenda Clifford, Brett (Mary) Reed, Barry Reed; grandchildren, Kristy (Marty) Schaner, Amber (Phil) MacEachron, Samantha (Caleb) Gaul, Trey Clifford, Cody Gaul, Hadley (Brandon) Reed, Emily Gaul; great-grandchildren, Trip, Waylon, North, Colton, Saxon, Addison, Teddy and Finn, with two more on the way; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Howley was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Keith Bolen; son-in-law, Skip Clifford; several brothers and sisters. A celebration of life will be held for Howley on Wednesday August 14, 2024, begging at 3:00 p.m., at Allegan Bible Church, 412 Sherman St. Allegan, MI 49010.
