Mary Linn Parkhurst Reindel died May 11, 2024. Mary was born to Ted and Rose Mary Parkhurst in Cadillac, Michigan on August 5, 1953.
As a child growing up in Marion Mary excelled in school and enjoyed participating in Band, Choir, cheerleading and Future Teachers of America. After graduating in 1971, Mary attended Alma College where she earned a degree in Elementary Education and her Master’s in Reading from Saginaw Valley University.
On September 7, 1974 Mary married Robert A. Reindel in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Bob and Mary settled into life in Frankenmuth raising their children, Laura and Robb. For forty plus years Mary was a dedicated and beloved teacher of second and fifth graders at Birch Run Schools.
Mary was devoted to her family, her students, her neighbors and her many friends. Her strong faith in God was evident in all Mary did.  She had a heart to serve others and was happiest when she was gifting a beautiful dahlia from her garden to a shut-in or delivering a topsy turvy cupcake to a neighbor.
Although Mary lived her final years with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, her essence continued to shine as she delighted in helping and encouraging others. She was an inspiration.
Mary is survived by her treasured family, Dr. Robert Reindel, Laura Reindel and Robb Reindel (Darren McCaughan), her siblings, Gail S. Parkhurst, Ted and Linda Parkhurst, Thom and Penny Robinson, and Julia Parkhurst, her in-laws, Jim and Beth Reindel, Bill and Sue Reindel and Fred Reindel, her aunts and uncle, Faye Dague, Frank and Janet Flemming and Nancy Flemming, many cherished nieces and nephews and good friends.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Ted and Rose Mary, and her adored brother, Bill. Funeral services have taken place.
