Patricia Ann Price, passed away peacefully at her home in Lawton, MI, on April 7, 2024, at the age of 86. Pat, as she was affectionately known, was born on January 13, 1938, in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Patricia’s life was marked by her boundless creativity and nurturing spirit. She was renowned for her exquisite crocheted blankets, each stitch a testament to her skill and love. Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and banana nut bread, delights that brought joy to all who knew her.
An ideal day for Pat included baking, tending to her garden, and sharing stories with her cherished friend, Geraldine Greve, along the fence line. Though she hailed from Battle Creek, her heart found its home in Lawton when her family opened a fruit market there in 1955. Pat lent her talents to the family business until its closure in 1998.
Patricia graduated from Lawton High School in 1957, and in 1971, she married Marion (Junior) Price, with whom she shared a loving partnership until his passing in 2003. An avid crafter, Pat found joy in creating beautiful baby blankets for friends and family, always tailor-made with their favorite colors or themes.
Beyond her crafts, Pat had a penchant for collecting clippings from magazines, which she lovingly included in the cards she sent to her loved ones. Her thoughtfulness extended to every occasion, ensuring that those dear to her received heartfelt messages detailing her latest adventures.
Patricia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marion Price, and her parents, John S. Thompson and Winifred Thompson, as well as her siblings Richard Thompson, Connie Moffett, Jack Thompson, and Diane Thompson.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Dawn Reynolds, her four grandchildren Jessica (Daniel) Switzer, Melissa Prpich (Omar Escamilla), Vanessa (Ryland) Phillips, and Donald Prpich Jr., and her six great-grandchildren Nolan and Chase Switzer, Henry, Arthur, and George Phillips, and Eden Prpich.
Patricia Ann Price’s legacy of love, creativity, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Shiners Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
A graveside service will occur on June 1, 2024 at 11am at Oak Grove Cemetery. A luncheon will immediately follow at the American Legion in Lawton, MI.
