Robert Lee Penny, age 75 of Clare, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Robert was born in Mt.Pleasant to Wm. John and Clara Penny. Survived by his wife of 50 years Melissa (Loomis); sons Devin (Ve) of Georgia and Richard (Heidi) of Clare; grandchildren David and Amelia; special daughter Nancy (Glen) Mittan of Farwell; siblings John Penny, Ted Penny, Betty Kotch, and Thelma Dysinger and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Richard, brother Charles, sister Lois (Gibis), nephew Scott, niece Michelle, and niece Kathy.
Robert was a wonderfully imperfect man, quietly intense, an “enlightened redneck” according to Melissa. Bob was smart, witty, and helpful, his joys were his family, gardening, making maple syrup, going fast, and doing pig roasts.
The family asks that to honor Bob, take time to smell the roses, tell someone you love that you love them, we are not promised tomorrow. Donations can be made to the family or your charity of choice.
