Obituary: Theo Thomas Hartnell

Theo Thomas Hartnell, age 82, of Lake passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Northwoods Nursing Center in Farwell. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service for Theo will take place at Clark-Campbell Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 12 p.m. with Elder Dick Hunt officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow at the funeral chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clare County Senior Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. Theo was born on January 31, 1942, in Flint, son of Jesse and Leah (Schaar) Hartnell. He married Patricia Ann Bellows on May 14, 1983, in the Community of Christ Church in Farwell. Theo worked for General Motors as a millwright and a skilled tradesman for 35 years, retiring in 1999. Theo was a member of the Community of Christ. Theo was an avid singer, and professionally recorded music. Patricia and Theo loved spending time together playing bingo, going to movies, and exploring the small towns of Michigan. Theo is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia; five step-children, Mark (Kenra) Cole of Rockford, Lisa Sprague of Mt. Pleasant, Sean Cole of Flint, Michele (Greg) Lyden of Flushing, and Pamela Churchfield of Lake; grandchildren, Kory (Maria) Jacobs, Mark Cole, Hali (Matthew) DeRuiter, Jessica (Chris) Buccilli, Kevin Orr, Hannah (Cody) Kline, and Savannah Lyden; three great-grandchildren, Adrian, Maci, and Scarlett; brothers and sisters-in-law, including Janet (Dee) Beavers, Linda Hertzberg, and Carol (Robert) Bielby,; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Theo is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ted Hiles, Bud Hiles, and Oren Hartnell; brother-in-law, Donald Bellows; and sister-in-law, Gloria Beavers.
