Obituary: Victor Robert Crane

Victor Robert Crane, 84, of Paw Paw, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday Jan. 1, 2022, at his home, with his family at his side. He was born March 19, 1937, in Logansport, Indiana, the son of the late Thomas G. Crane and Thelma (Cordell) Webster.
At the age of five, his family moved to Niles, MI. Victor was a standout wrestler in high school, graduating from Niles High School in 1955. After high school, he attended Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, where he majored in history and played baseball.
Victor was united in marriage on March 29, 1960, in Kalamazoo, to Sharon (Saratore) Crane, who survives.
In 1963, he began his career with the UpJohn Company, and retired after 36 dedicated years of service in 1999. He was a devoted husband and beloved father and Poppy to his three daughters, Michelle (Rosonald) Bell, Laurie (Jason) Carter and Stacey Crane; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Victor was an avid sports fan, especially of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. He became a talented and established musician in his younger years. He was the drummer of many traveling bands.
Victor was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Crane; his brothers, Thomas I. Crane, Donald Crane, and infant sister, Eunice Crane.
Due to the pandemic, a private mass at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Paw Paw, was held. Burial followed at Saint Mary Cemetery, Paw Paw. There will be a public celebration of life held in the summer 2022. Please refer to the Adams Funeral Home website for further details.
