PAW PAW – A 43-year-old Paw Paw man faces several drug and firearm charges, following his by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel Abbott reported that the Van Buren County Narcotics Unit conducted an investigation in the Village of Paw Paw into the illicit sale of narcotics, specifically methamphetamine and cocaine.
The investigation led to a search warrant being conducted in the 200 block of Willard Street During the search, Narcotics detectives recovered, a loaded 40 caliber handgun, 23.7 ounces of methamphetamine and 15.7 ounces of cocaine.
Detectives also seized approximately $5,200 in United States currency, directly related to the sale of the narcotics.
Sheriff Abbott said there were two small children in the house at the time of the incident and that Child Protective Services (CPS) were contacted to conduct a joint investigation.
The suspect was arrested and lodged at the Van Buren County Jail without incident. He faces charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine (23.7 ounces), possession of cocaine (15.7 ounces), felony firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, and maintaining a drug house.
This investigation remains open.
