Electric crews in Sturgis have power outages down to fewer than 100 customers, as they continue to work to restore service in the aftermath of the March 30 storm.
The majority of the remaining outages are small clusters of a homes or isolated house outages, according to city manager Andrew Kuk.
The goal is to have power restored throughout the city by the end of the day, April 1, Kuk said.
To reach that goal, customers who have downed lines running from their home to the pole and experienced damage to the masthead or meter on their house will need to have an electrician repair those elements prior to power reconnection.
City crews are making contact in person or with orange door tags to attempt to identify properties where an electrician is needed. Customers who require this repair are asked to contact the outage line at (269) 659-7255 and leave a message after repair has been completed, so workers can be scheduled to reconnect service.
