Resurfacing on three local highways begins Tuesday

THREE RIVERS — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced Wednesday that three highways in St. Joseph County will be getting resurfacing work done beginning next week.

On Tuesday, July 9, MDOT will be resurfacing U.S. 131 from Dickinson Road in Constantine to Garber Road in White Pigeon, M-60 from Hoffman Road in Three Rivers to Plainfield Drive in Mendon, and M-86 from the junction of South Main Street and Lutz Road in Three Rivers to West Main Street in Centreville.

The $2.5 million roadwork will include chip seal, fog seal and micro-surfacing of the roads. The estimated end date for the project will be Sept. 17, and single-lane closures with flagging operations will be in place during the project.
