SOUTH HAVEN — Zander Duncan is coming off a unique sophomore season as a South Haven athlete.
He was a state qualifier in swim last year as a sophomore, Duncan was a running back for the JVs with 15 TDs and over 800 yards rushing and 1300-plus all purpose yards and sprinter for track, in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters and sprint relays.
He took first place in a local Triathlon in June.
“His time qualified him for the national triathlon in Wisconsin in August which he will participate in,” South Haven track coach Trevor Smiley said. “We are super excited for Zander and this experience.”
Duncan was a sprinter for South Haven.
In the 100-meter dash, he had a personal record of 11.80 seconds in the SAC Conference meet. He placed ninth. In the 200 meters, he was 15th in the Shamrock Invitational with a personal record of 24.25 seconds. He had placed second in the Fennville SAC Tri with a time of 24.64 seconds.
He was on the 4×100 relay which had a first place in 49.30 seconds in the first meet of the season at South Haven. He was also on the 4×200 relay which had several first and second places this season.
