The contract for Art Ebert, superintendent at Sturgis Public Schools, has been extended through June 30, 2028.
The board of education approved the measure June 24.
According to documents provided to the board, Ebert’s compensation for 2024-25 is $178,500.
For 2025-28, the base salary is $182,070. An additional 1% increase is applied if the district’s full-time equivalent for the academic year’s audited fall student count meets or surpasses level of the previous cycle.
The board is allowed to review the contract prior to March 31 each year during the agreement’s term.
On June 18, Ebert was given a “highly effective” rating on his year-end performance appraisal by the board of education.
As a guide for that assessment, the board used School ADvance Administrator Evaluation System, which measures 31 areas considered essential to “successful instructional leadership.”
Also on June 24, the board approved the district’s 2024-25 budget.
