“Spring Adventures” is presented by Sturgis Wind Symphony, at 3 p.m. May 4 at Sturges-Young Center for the Arts.
It is the final show of the group’s 2024-25 season.
Admission is free.
Expected set list:

- Marche Des Parachutistes Belges
- Flicker in Time
- Second Suite in F
- Denbridge Way
- Impressions of a Gaelic Air
- Summertime (feat. vocal soloist Lauren Davidson)

- Choose Joy
Inclusion of “Star Wars” aligns with the show date of May 4, the informal observance of Star Wars Day.
Jim Whitehead, director of the symphony, provided some detail regarding selection of the songs.
“Years ago, a piece titled “Flicker in Time” was commissioned specifically for the middle school band,” Whitehead said. “Due to instrumentation challenges, we have never had the opportunity to perform it, until now. We are thrilled to finally bring this work to life in its premiere performance with Sturgis Wind Symphony.”
The 2024-25 season has featured three performances, with the others in December and March. The December production was a tribute to the late Scott Davidson, founder and longtime conductor of Sturgis Wind Symphony.
Whitehead reflected on the season.
“Preparing and sharing music with our audiences has been a true joy,” he said. “Their support, enthusiasm and presence are a constant source of inspiration, and one of the key reasons we gather to make music together.
The group’s 2025–26 season already is taking shape, Whitehead said.
“Several pieces have been selected for the next three concerts, and we’re excited for what’s to come,” he said. “If any community members, especially clarinetists, are thinking about picking up their instruments this summer, we would love to welcome you to join us in the upcoming season.”
