Three Rivers man killed in stabbing, suspect arrested

THREE RIVERS — A 46-year-old Three Rivers man was arrested on an open murder charge after allegedly stabbing a 61-year-old Three Rivers man Sunday night.

According to the Three Rivers Police Department, police and the St. Joseph County Major Crime Task Force were called to the 300 block of Fourth Avenue in Three Rivers at 11:49 p.m. Sunday for a report of people screaming. When they arrived on scene, police say that located a man who had been stabbed. The suspect was located on scene and taken into custody.

The 61-year-old was airlifted to Bronson Methodist Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The 46-year-old suspect is currently lodged in the St. Joseph County Jail on an open murder charge.

Three Rivers police were assisted on scene by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department and Michigan State Police.
