Two-vehicle crash on M-115 in Surrey Township results in three fatalities

On Thursday, November 13, 2025 at approximately 9:11 p.m., the Clare County Central Dispatch received a report of a two-vehicle crash on M-115 near Harding Avenue in Surrey Township. Initial reports indicated that one vehicle was on fire. Deputies from the Clare county Sheriff’s Office and personnel from the Surrey Township Fire Department responded to the scene. Fire crews extinguished the burning vehicle, and deputies began investigating the incident.
Deputies determined that a black 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 20-year-old male from Detroit, Michigan was traveling westbound on M-115 with three passengers: a 20-year-old male and two females, ages 19 and 21, all from Detroit. The Jeep crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with a white 2013 Buick Verano driven by a 24-year-old male from Tecumseh, Michigan.
The driver of the Buick sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 20-year-old male passenger in the Jeep was also pronounced deceased at the scene. The 19-year-old female passenger was transported to MyMichigan Emergency Department-Midland where she later passed away from her injuries.
The 21-year-old female passenger of the Jeep was transported to MyMichigan Medical Center-Clare and subsequently transferred to Hurley Medical Center in Flint for advanced care from major injuries she sustained as a result of the crash. The driver of the Jeep was transported to MyMichigan Medical Center-Clare for treatment.
The crash remains under active investigation. The Clare County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Surrey Township Fire Department and Mobile Medical Response ambulance service.
