American flags placed on 1200 graves

Volunteers placed American flags on an estimated 1,200 graves of veterans buried at the City of South Haven Lakeview Cemetery as a prelude to the Memorial Day ceremony to be held on Monday, May 25. The estimated 30 volunteers represented businesses and civic and veterans organizations from throughout Southwest Michigan. The Memorial Day commemoration will begin with a 9 a.m. march through downtown South Haven to the cemetery where a formal ceremony will be held.
