Clare sweeps Farwell baseball team

CLARE – Clare’s bat were booming on May 6 at Farwell in a pair of Jack Pine Conference wins.
The first game went in Clare’s favor 21-0 after four innings. The second game was 15-0.
Miles Haggart had three hits including a double and three RBIs for Clare.
Ryan Louch had a double and two RBIs. Shane Warner and Westyn Bryant had two hits apiece while Westyn Bryant and Cole Drake had two RBIs.
Bryant was the winning pitcher and allowed only one hit.
Haggart was the pitcher for three innings in the second game and didn’t allow a hit. He had a single, double and triple and three RBIs. Louch, Randall, Warner and Bryant had two hits apiece.
“It’s going good,” Haggart said. “We’re on a winning streak and ready to get into the district tournament.”
Clare was runners-up on Saturday at the Reed City Crossroads Tournament. Clare started off by beating the host school 22-2 in four innings.
Haggart had a home run, three hits and seven RBIs. Arthur had three hits, four RBIs and five runs scored. Two of his hits were doubles.
Louch had two hits including a double, and two RBIs. Keagan Hill had two hits and an RBI, Bryant had two doubles and an RBI. Carter Smedley had two hits and four RBIs.
Chase Randell and A. Moreno did the pitching for Clare.
In the title game Clare lost to Freeland 7-3. Freeland had a 9-4 edge in hits and took advantage of five Pioneer errors. Louch had two hits including a home run and an RBI for Clare.
Warner also had a home run for Clare.
Arthur was the starter and losing pitcher for Clare.
