Multiple people were arrested Memorial Day following an investigation by the Clare County Sheriff’s Office that began with a dispute between two women at a local gas station and expanded into a drug investigation involving two residences in Hayes Township.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the K-D Quick Stop at approximately 9:16 a.m. Monday, May 25, after Amber Marie Garrow, 40, of Flint, reported that her friend, Kristen Ann Graber, 44, had left her at the gas station and taken property belonging to her.
When deputies met with Garrow, they discovered she had an outstanding felony warrant out of Genesee County related to dangerous drugs. She was taken into custody without incident.
A short time later, a sheriff’s sergeant located and stopped the vehicle driven by Kristen Graber. During the traffic stop, deputies said Graber attempted to identify herself using Garrow’s driver’s license. She was arrested for providing false identification. Deputies also discovered hydrocodone in the vehicle for which Graber did not have a prescription.
During the investigation, deputies obtained information related to the possession and delivery of methamphetamine. Search warrants were later executed at two Hayes Township residences located on Melanie Road and West Al-Heiden Road.
At the Melanie Road residence, deputies encountered Karin Anne Graber, 69, of Harrison, identified as the mother of Kristen Graber. Investigators reported finding approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale containing methamphetamine residue, syringes with unknown liquid substances, and methamphetamine pipes inside the residence. Karin Graber was taken into custody.
Deputies then executed a second search warrant at a residence on West Al-Heiden Road, where they encountered Randy Louis Chamberlain, 69, of Harrison. Authorities said deputies discovered approximately 6 grams of methamphetamine, hydrocodone not prescribed to Chamberlain, and a digital scale inside the home.
Investigators also located a backpack belonging to Joseph Anthony Ellis, 62, of Harrison. Inside the bag, deputies found approximately 2 grams of methamphetamine and two syringes containing unknown liquid substances.
Deputies later learned Ellis was possibly returning to the residence with Jesse James Chamberlain, 40, of Harrison. Deputies stopped their vehicle on Stockwell Road near Bass Lake Avenue and arrested Ellis. During a search of the vehicle, deputies found an additional gram of methamphetamine belonging to Jesse Chamberlain, who was also arrested.
