Allegan High School’s Treble & Chamber Choirs recently received Division 1 Excellent ratings at MSVMA (Michigan School Vocal Music Association) District Choral Festivals. Their high ratings qualified them for State Festival which will be held in May.
“Both groups consisted of primarily underclassmen and both groups worked extremely hard the weeks leading up to the festival. We are especially proud of them as most have never performed at a MSVMA Choral Festival due to COVID the past few years. Their rich tone quality, presentation, and balance contributed to their high 1 ratings,” shared Director Rebecca Balkon.
MSVMA believes their mission is to educate, empower, and experience the art of vocal music. By doing this, they believe “As innovative leaders in vocal music education, we provide experiences to inspire our diverse community. Our vision is to reach the hearts of all people through song.”
The experiences provided by MSVMA through regional and state festivals have encouraged thousands of students to participate in solo, ensemble and choir events. “Our vision is to reach the hearts of all people through song.” Allegan’s vocalists demonstrate MSVMA’s success in attaining that vision.
